
Social Media
During the final semesters of my college experience, I worked in my school's Global Career Center for Leadership & Career Innovation. While this was a work-study position, this job served as a key part in allowing me to put my passions and skills together for the betterment of my school's program. My responsibilities included scheduling events in Purple Briefcase, taking notes for the Executive Director, organize weekly events, format and compose the weekly newsletter, and cultivate a social media presence that students would engage with. I created more engagement for the Career Center's social media by scheduling weekly posts that would let students know what events were coming up this week. This not only helped the Career Center's posts stay relevant on student's feeds, but it also pushed students to take advantage of the great workshops that the center offered. Additionally, I worked to stay in touch with Alumnae to hear about their experiences as well as what they were doing now that they have graduated. Doing so created great content for the page as well as creating a reason to remain following the Instagram page after graduating from the college. For this internship, I was the Social Media Manager for the company Mindful Supply. What started as a community partner for a school project, the relationship landed me a position to run a social media platform that already had a following. The companies goal was to broaden their target market and staying relevant with the algorithm changes. Throughout the semester I worked on content maps, capturing moments at events, and interacting with customers through Instagram.

During this project, I was given the opportunity to partner with a local company in Greensboro, NC to spread the word about their ethically-made T-shirt company. During this nine week program, I learned the company's target market, buyer persona, and cultivated brand awareness to portray the company on my Instagram platform through engaging posts. With social media being a key platform for most businesses, I was able to put myself in the buyer and seller’s shoes in order to become an efficient member of any future team.
